Girls high school wrestling in Oklahoma hasn’t been around very long but Stilwell is one of the schools that has fully embraced it as coach Chris Henry explained.
“There’s a K-8 school, Maryetta, just outside Stilwell, that we’ve had a coop program with over the years and they’ve produced a lot of our top girls’ wrestlers. In 2019 when the OSSAA sanctioned girls’ high school wrestling, Paul Mayfield started a program here and I was his assistant. Our first year we had a girl make the state finals and the program grew. It took a hit when coach Mayfield went to Bixby to become the girls wrestling coach and some of the girls followed him there and we had two other head coaches come and go, we had some graduation losses, and the program was down to just two girls. But I became head coach and with our feeder program in Maryetta, we’ve been able to build the program back up to around nine girls this year.

Last year we finished fifth in Class 5A with just two girls one of which made it to the state finals. This year those two girls, Adrianna Chronister and Josaline Blevens are back, and we had some others that just missed making state. We also have an experienced move-in Monalisa Freeman that Adrianna has taken under her wing.”
Other girls in this year’s wrestling program include Brena Black, Makhia Petit, Raquel Wren, Xaxvel Piedra, Meychelle Heisse, Jacklyn Morales and Tottie Calcott.
