More than just a coach…Tim Barton helped to shape the lives of many students that attended Stilwell High School while also creating a successful baseball program with a lineup made up of home grown talent. For his contribution to the game of baseball in Oklahoma as well as to his teams and players at Stilwell, Barton was inducted into the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame. On the baseball diamond, the legendary leader of Stilwell baseball, Barton put together 35 years in the dugout and on the field where his teams captured three OSSAA state championships (1985, 1987 & 1990) along with a state runner-up finish in 1997 while compiling a 1035-286 win-loss record.
Just as much as the state championships and games won, Barton who retired in 2019, is just as proud of the success of his many players highlighted by the fact that more than 100 players went on to play baseball at the college level.

Following the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies at the OBCA’s event in Norman, “Coach” Barton was also recognized by the school at a home basketball game.
Without question, Tim Barton and his teams brought pride to the school and the entire Stilwell community.
